About Us
Mercy Nairobi
We are a community of disciples of Jesus who desire to see a gospel awakening in Nairobi that is carried to the ends of the earth. We are Christ-centered, Bible-believing and Holy-Spirit led. We exist to make disciples for the glory of God and the good of all people. Following the Holy Spirit's leading, we aim to be a church as defined by the New Testament, a church that proclaims the Gospel and lives out the implications of the Gospel.
Vision
To see a Gospel Awakening in Nairobi that is carried to the ends of the Earth.
Mission
We Exist to Make Disciples for the glory of God and the Good of all People.

01

We Point to the Surpassing Worth of Following Jesus

Because Jesus being fully man and fully God, lived a sinless life, suffered the curse of the cross, and paid once for sin to bring whoever believes in him into a relationship with God, we make much of Him by treasuring, embracing, exalting, and proclaiming only Him. We do not point to ourselves, we point to Jesus so that people will follow him, treasure him and point others to him. Galatians 3:13, John 3:16, 1 Peter 3:18, Colossians 1:15-23, Hebrews 1:1-5, John 1:1-18

02

We Welcome Our Neighbors

Because Jesus pursued and welcomed us to his Kingdom in open arms and prepared a table for us to sit with him as sons and daughters of God, we aspire to be welcoming. We go out of our way to care, listen, reach out, make room, invite and be hospitable for the sake of the gospel. Isaiah 55:1, Matthew 11:28-30, Luke 9:11, Romans 15:7, Hebrews 13:2

03

We Grow Together as a Family of God

Because Jesus has made us family under his headship, we are committed to lovingly holding each other accountable, yielding to the leading of the holy spirit, and deepening our knowledge of scriptures together towards maturity in Christ. We aspire to love each other deeply, sacrificially, and authentically. We Intentionally disciple each other, point out grace in each other, and learn from each other. 1 Peter 2:9-10, John 13:35, Romans 12:10-13, Hebrews 10:19-25, Romans 12:9-21

04

We Go to All People with the Gospel

Because Jesus came for us and commissioned us to go, we purposefully and strategically proclaim the gospel. We engage in regular rhythms of evangelism, train, fund, and champion church planting and missionary efforts. We share our treasures and time, and we are committed to advocating for the less fortunate, disadvantaged, marginalised, forgotten, underserved, and oppressed. Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14-15, Isaiah 1:17, Matthew 25:31-46

Our Values

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

This brief statement of faith does not cover the full extent of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, is the ultimate source of truth, morality, and the proper conduct of humanity. It serves as the foundation for all that we believe.

We believe in only one God who has existed eternally in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
