All Christians are called and sent by God to be witnesses of Jesus. As we continue in our series titled TUMETUMWA – WE ARE SENT, Mercy Nairobi looks back 2000 years ago to see how the early church got started and how it lived out its calling.

Ruth is a powerful story of God's redeeming love, illustrating how even in death, God providentially saves Naomi. This redemption is a central theme in the Bible, and Pastor Allan explores this theme by looking at the nature of God's redemption through Ruth, Boaz, and Naomi.

In Chapter 3, Ruth seeks REST at the feet of Boaz, her kinsman redeemer. Rest for her meant provision, protection, and a permanent home in Israel. This raises the question of where we can find rest. Who is our Redeemer?

Just like Ruth, we find ourselves constantly needing protection, provision, wisdom, direction, and the list goes on. Pastor Allan endeavours to answer the question, How does God provide for his people? as we go through Ruth 2.

Ruth is a wonderful, grace-filled story of redemption. Through the lives of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz, we see God's kindness to his people, God's providence that brings forth physical and spiritual salvation not only for the characters in this story but for all of humanity, and a beautiful love story marked by a determination to follow Yahweh "highlighted by Ruth" and integrity "highlighted by Boaz." This book is a testament to God's presence, redemptive love, and steadfast kindness even in dark times, which is eventually demonstrated through Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection.

John 17 is a supplication prayer that Jesus Christ made right before he was arrested and crucified. By gleaning into how Jesus prayed, we can learn how to present our supplications before God in humility.
